When I began writing "Moonlight Surrender", I must confess to my ignorance of Charles Randolph Grean and the origins of "Shadows of the Night" -aka- "Quentin's Theme".

Since I watch VERY little television, my memories of Dark Shadows were that of viewing the original series from 1968-1971.

I gained much insight into the characters by screening old video tape, past recollections of viewers of the original series and of the series when it was aired on the Sci-Fi Channel. Their input was GREATLY appreciated!!!

"Shadows of the Night / Quentin's Theme"

stirred my emotions as a child, as it does so to this day.

"Moonlight Surrender" evolved from one poem, then it took on a life of its own and became twenty.

My late-night writes with the legends of R&R, R&B, C&W, were quite prolific. They provided me 'inspirational' noise!

Nocturnal tendencies enabled me to write with little interruption so I could 'attempt' a full-time daytime life.

This series definitely challenged me as a writer, to be more daring and to step outside my 'comfort zone' with my craft.

Nevertheless, I shall think THRICE before I undertake an endeavour such as this and expect to retain my sanity at its conclusion.
